In its Collector Checkout B2B, Collector has made business purchases as easy as B2C purchases and added a number of additional features to benefit both e‑merchants and end customers.
The challenge
The Collector checkout loads in an iframe on the checkout page and manages payment and order placement from there. Collector came to Webbhuset to build a Magento payment module for Collector Checkout that merchants using Magento can install. Collector already had a Magento module, but it was perceived as causing many problems during the onboarding process and was unstable; it was also difficult to develop further. Collector decided to build a new module together with Webbhuset that is prepared for the future.
Solution
Based on a comprehensive requirement specification and planning, the project was executed agilely with short feedback loops. The goal was to develop a module built according to Magento's standards and compatible with the maximum number of Magento instances. With close collaboration with Collector and our experience in building Magento modules, we created the Collector Magento 2 Checkout, available for all e‑merchants to download and install via GitHub. This is a living module where new functionality is added as Collector's customers' demands change and grow. The latest addition is an integration of Collector's shipping checkout, enabling e‑merchants to configure their shipping methods via Unifaun's freight selector and then choose shipping directly from the checkout in Collector's iframe, which is then synced to Magento.
