Background
Ekeby had an existing e‑commerce site in Magento 2 before coming to us. It was slow, rife with bugs, and therefore difficult to work with. They felt they weren't receiving the help they needed, leading to a loss of customers and sales. Ekeby's need was also for a long-term and proactive partner to optimize and provide solution proposals. This is where Webbhuset came into play.
The solution
Since the old Magento installation was inadequate, it was decided early on that it would be more time and cost-efficient to rebuild everything from scratch and start anew.

The site is built using a technique called SPA (single page app) to create a fast, responsive page, making it easy for users to navigate and manage the site. An SPA means content only needs to load once, without reloading when navigating between pages. We use a custom-built Storefront as the SPA solution.
Webbhuset also developed an integration with the Garp business system to facilitate the management of orders, products, inventory, etc. The Garp integration was built on Webbhuset's integration platform to provide Ekeby with an optimal integration.
A future-proof innovative platform
The site features incredibly fast filtering and search functionality, which is part of WH-Ecom and is crucial when dealing with a large volume of products as Ekeby Möbler has.
Image optimization has been performed to ensure faster loading times. Images are resized and compressed to maintain uniformity, maximizing performance. We developed a solution for image optimization, whereby an algorithm can reduce image sizes by more than 40% compared to Magento's standard optimization, while maintaining the same quality.
A comprehensive SEO effort was undertaken together with Ekeby and their SEO partner to understand and apply the right solutions for improved rankings in connection with the system transition.
The site is built using the ELM programming language, providing robust code that eliminates bugs. The advantage of building with Elm is that we can easily add features, enabling e‑commerce growth and further development in line with customer requests without affecting existing functionality.
The goal of the e‑commerce is to grow nationally and, eventually, internationally.
